Art Show This Weekend! Online or In-Person

I’m hosting an art show this weekend at my home, featuring my own art and the art of 21 other wonderful artists! As the paintings and pottery and creations have been arriving, I’ve been surrounded by inspiration! Everything is so beautiful. I’d love for you to see it—and NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE, YOU CAN!

The show will be live online and in-person, featuring not only the art, but the artists talking about their art. The goal is threefold:

  1. To enjoy and share what God has helped us to create
  2. To inspire others to enjoy and share what God can help them to create
  3. To raise funds for our ministry to reach even more people with the HOPE of Jesus Christ

To quote my cousin, friend and art coach, Joan Moody:

“When artists gather, amazing things happen!”

I can attest to that! I went to Joan’s first art retreat 2 years ago in Round Top, Texas more as a whim than as a “real” artist. I love just brushing paint on a canvas… the motion alone is calming and rewarding. But then to see what comes out of all those brushstrokes… I’m often amazed! I did that?

Joan has a 20-foot rule… stand back 20 feet from your art and see what you think. Surprisingly, I thought mine looked pretty good!

I loved being with other artists for several days at her retreat. I was inspired, encouraged, and learned new skills that I could use to develop the gifts God had given me.

So I went to Joan’s again the next year, and painted again with some amazing artists. I set a goal at the end of that week: a big, audacious one for me, as I’d never done it before… to have an art show of my own work! To see all of my art in one collection, all at the same time, and to share it with others, whether for display only or for sale so they could take it home. Either way, I set the goal, put in the work, and this week I’m seeing the fruit of all of it!

My house is filled with over 150 pieces of art from myself and 21 other artists who I’ve asked to donate their art to this show. Some of it is for display only, and some of it is for sale to take home with you. And all of it is ONLINE so you can see it right now and enjoy it for yourself, wherever you might be.

In fact, we’ll be live on Zoom all weekend for anyone who wants to drop by at anytime we’re showing the art. I’ll list the hours and schedule of artist talks and link to join below so you can decide when you want to drop by. Maybe come for all 3 days! It’s free, fun, and “When artist’s gather, amazing things happen.”

To give you some idea of what this is all about, here are a few graphics, links, and a 10-minute video interview I did with my art coach Joan. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you’ll join us this weekend!

As the Bible says:

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

Enjoy!
