Thanks for wanting to participate in my art show this fall!
The show will be held the weekend of September 18-20 at my farmhouse in Chenoa. It will be an “open house” style art show where people can come and go as they’d like, or come for the whole weekend.
Here’s the schedule and the address:
- Friday, September 18: 5 – 8 PM
- Saturday, September 19: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Sunday, September 20: 2 – 5 PM
25615 East 3000 North Road
Chenoa, IL 61726
What I’ll need from you…
1-5 pieces of art submitted to me by Saturday, September 5th… paintings, sculptures, pottery, quiltings… whatever form of art you like to create and are willing to donate to the show to be seen and sold!
The theme of the show is “REVEALING,” and I’d love for your art to reflect that if possible, but it’s not required. Many of my own pieces have additional “features” that reveal something more about the art, such as magnetic flaps, or double-sided frames so art can be turned around, or buttons that play music to bring the painting to life… anything that might add interest and engagement to the art! You’re welcome to submit art that does NOT go with the theme, but I love the idea of seeing what YOUR art would look like with some types of surprising “revelations”!
If you have a pricing structure in place, you can price your own work, or if not, contact me and I can help price it with you.
If your art doesn’t sell, you can take it home and keep it or sell it on your own another time.
If you want to bring other art to sell for your own profit, beyond the 1-5 pieces you donate for our fundraiser, you’re welcome to bring it along. I just ask that you stay with your art and handle all sales and interactions for those pieces yourself. (I’ll handle the transactions for your donated pieces.)
You may bring a small table or easels to display your work. The show will be spread throughout various rooms inside my home, so space is intimate and cozy. Since it will be inside, I plan to hold the show rain or shine.
I encourage you to invite your friends and family to come to the show! Because this is in my home, I prefer that our guests be friends or friends of friends, and by inviting your friends, you’ll give them a chance to see and buy your art, as well as the art of several others who will be joining us!
If you’re mailing your art, please mail it to arrive by Saturday, September 5th so I can photograph it and use it in promotions for the show. You may also drop it off in person on or by Saturday, September 5th.
Pieces that are unsold can be picked up at the end of the last day of the show or in the week following the show. Please allow for paying for return shipping if you’ve mailed pieces that are unsold that you want returned to you.
Also, I’d love for you to take 5-10 minutes sometime during the weekend to talk about your art. Please let me know what days/times you would be available for this so I can put together a more detailed schedule that you can share with your friends.
If you have a photograph of yourself (with or without your art in it), I’m glad to include it in my promotion of the event.
If you have other questions, just email me at eric@theranch.org.
Thanks again for participating. This will be fun!
Eric
