Online Men’s Group

I believe good things happen when men gather for friendship and mutual encouragement. I’d like to invite you to a new Online Men’s Group (OMG!) starting Wednesday, July 7, and running through the rest of the year (6 months).

We’ll plan on meeting on Zoom on Wednesdays from 12-1 PM Central Time. This might be a lunch break for some of you… or a brunch break… or an evening break… depending on your time zone! If you can join us for the full hour that’s great, but even if you can only come for 30 minutes, I think it will give you a boost in your day!

I’m inviting several friends from different seasons of my life. You’re welcome to invite other men, too! I thought it would be a good way to reconnect with friends who have meant a lot to me over the years (including you!) I know you may not know each other, but I think you’ll find it to be an engaging mix of men from various ages and stages of life.

My idea for the format of the hour is to spend the first 15-20 minutes together as a group, sharing a few words from a booklet I’ve been going through (it’s just the Gospel of John from the Bible, in which I’ve been finding some great life lessons once again for living Life with a capital “L”). If you join, I’ll mail you a copy of the little booklet that you can follow along and read through the week if you’d like.

For the second 15-20 minutes of the hour, I’d like to use the “breakout” feature of Zoom to randomly gather us into smaller groups of 3-4 men. This is a chance to talk or listen to other guys, maybe about the highs or lows of your week or more about the topic of the day.

For the last 15-20 minutes, I’d like to gather once again as a large group and hear each other’s thoughts.

I invite you to be as interactive as you’d like, whether engaging in the conversation or just watching along if you’d rather. I think that connecting with other men and hearing about each other’s lives will be helpful for us all. I know I could use the friendship and encouragement!

I’d love for you to join me!

If you’re interested and willing to commit to this six-month adventure, just let me know and I’ll send you the zoom link as well as a booklet in the mail.

I’ll also send you a link to a group chat app called Signal that will allow us to stay in touch with each other during the week. Signal is an easy way to continue our conversations, whether one-on-one or with the whole group after our hour ends. I chose this app because it works internationally, as I’m inviting friends from various countries and want everyone to be able to stay in touch.

Let me know if you’d like to join!
